The Do's and Don'ts of Jewelry

Updated: May 7, 2021

So you are just gushing over your new piece of jewelry. Or your most precious item has been with you for so long and you literally never take it off. No matter the age, price, or sentimental value of your item of jewelry here are a few do's and dont's:

DON'T

Wear to the gym or during vigorous activities (i.e. skiing) - These tight gripping and action packed activities can wreck havoc on your jewelry, especially your rings.

Bodies of water (lakes, beaches/oceans, even pools) - Ever dropped something right under your feet in the sand....well it's gone forever. Beware!

Baking/cooking/gardening/etc - Anything requiring you to "get your hands dirty" will do just that; and you'll be carrying around those little bits of raw meat under your prongs for a while.

Now that list is not to scare you away from wearing your jewelry all together. It is just meant to make you more mindful of what you're doing. Really, we encourage you to wear your jewelry all day, every day. If you want to really enjoy your jewelry, even during your crossfit class, then be sure to follow some of our DO's.

DO

Insure your items - We highly recommend getting insurance especially if you plan on wearing your items regularly. Perhaps skip the insurance on that item your great Aunt gave you that sits in the safety deposit box.

Visit us for regular check ups - You, your kids, car, teeth, and even your house gets checked out once a year at minimum. Be sure you get your jewelry checked out too.

Regardless of your view on the subject, you will find a time and place to wear your precious jewels. We just hope you wear them more often than not.
