  • Purchasers of colored gemstones should be aware that natural gemstones are processed from the time they are extracted from the earth by one or more traditionally accepted trade practices. All colored gemstones for sale on this site have probably been subject to stable and possibly undetectable enhancement processes. All relevant information will be provided to the best of our knowledge. Prevailing market values are based on these universally practiced and accepted processes by the gem and jewelry trade. Two of the most common treatments for colored gemstones are:
  • Heating -The use of heat to effect desired alteration of color, clarity, and/or phenomena. Results are permanent. Applicable to but not limited to: Sapphire, Tanzanite, and more.
  • Oiling -The filling of surface-breaking fissures with colorless oil, wax, resin, or other colorless substance (except glass or plastic) to improve the gemstone's appearance. Applicable to but not limited to: Emerald
  • Repairs and/or modifications to jewelry at the request of the client are accepted with the understanding that jewelry repair carries inherent risks not limited to prior wear, age, previous repairs, gemstone characteristics, and metal condition. While every effort will be made to complete repairs to the highest standard using experienced master jewelers, Dubin’s Fine Jewelry is not responsible for unforeseen issues that may arise during the repair process. All repair and modification work is final, non-refundable, and not returnable once work has begun.
